My Ryu and Luke figures are finally heeere! These are a step up from the smaller SFII Ryu and Ken Storm Collectable figures: more joints to move, they're bigger, and detailed. They look incredible. It's really nice Ryu's cloth has an easy to bend bar so you can shape it to how you like. Popping off hands and heads didn't feel scary either. The neck is bendable, with the back being hollow and fleshy. My only quibble is I wish Ryu had a smiling face. Now please make a Ken so I can make this photo real...!
I also got 漫画のプロが全力で教える 描き文字の基本 (Manga Pros Teach You with All They Got - The Basics of Sound Effect Drawing) by the Tokyo Design College as well. I caught this on Bsky a couple weeks ago and had to order it right away. The first few pages cover digital and analog tools with the methods to draw the effects. But the core of the book is a thorough reference of sound effects by type (Music, eating, driving, bathing, anger) with lots of different onomatopoeia and how they often look in manga. Valuable reference when I do my crappy Japanese translations of my comics.
